Mother's Day 05/09/2010
We've all had one at some point in our lives, and many of us still do; a Mom. Three letters, two unique, yet it is *such* a powerful word. Mom turned upside down spells wow. Today I celebrated my first Mother's Day, but it wasn't really about me. It was about two other people who are very near and dear to my heart. Today was about my son, Hudson, who has blessed me with the title "Mom". (And who rolled over from his belly to his back at 6am this morning - what a beautiful Mother's Day gift!). Without Hudson, I wouldn't have this right of passage. And, it was also about my Mom. Without her, there would be no me and more importantly, there would be no Hudson. It wasn't until I became a Mom that I completely appreciated all that a Mom does - from the moment we give birth until we take our last breath. I think i it is incredible that my Mom cared for and loved me every day after I was born, the same way I now do for Hudson. A Mom's love is inexplicable and I have a new love and appreciation for my own Mom. Today I celebrate the beauty in every Mom - you are all fabulous. Moms come in all different varieties, but we as Moms all do the best that we know how. Happy Mother's Day to all of you! 2 Comments Ah-goo ... it will melt your heart! 03/22/2010
Ah-goo (not to be confused with Ah-choo, the sound of a sneeze!) is likely the first babble you'll hear from your bundle of joy. All babies, no mater what language they speak or what country they live in, all make the famous "ah-goo" sound. Expect to hear this adorable little gurgle starting around weeks 6-8. Just when I wanted to cry at the thought that Hudson is no longer one of the teeny-tiny babies, he goes and pulls an ah-goo on me! Awe, it was the most precious sound I've ever heard. What's my point? Embrace our little babes growing older, each new baby step is more precious than the last. | ArchivesFebruary 2012 CategoriesAll |
